| Dedicated on June 24, 2006 , this 50 year life project for the Girl Scouts of Santa Clara County, the Skylark Ranch Sunrise Shower House provides much needed services for the Girl Scouts 250 acre year round camp in the Santa Cruz mountains. Sunrise Shower House is designed as a long-lasting, low-maintenance, low-energy and low-water consumption project and the first new building on the site for over 30 years. The 2200 sf project includes an accessible 12-shower Shower House, two solar hot water collection arrays (800 sf total), separate hot water storage enclosure, dedicated septic system and leech field. The wrap around front deck will be a major gathering point and educational venue within the camp. The interior design features low water consumption sinks, toilets and showers, clerestory windows and daylight harvesting, energy efficient lighting, and recycled glass and concrete benches; the glass for the benches was collected by the scouts. Recycled and recyclable materials and finishes are used thru-out. |
